I use Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 every day and one of my favorite features is co-authoring. This feature enables multiple authors to simultaneously edit the same PowerPoint file and collaborate in real-time. This time saving feature eliminates the need for one author to check-out the file and resort to serial updates when there are multiple colleagues that are required to contribute content. Your PowerPoint 2010 view shows the author names and a visual icon on each slide that others are updating. You can simply refresh your view to see the new updates made by these authors. PowerPoint 2010 integrates other collaboration features such as using Office Communicator or other IM applications to view the status of other authors and initiate conversations directly from within PowerPoint 2010.
